Rosler dismisses Norwich talk

Fleetwood Town manager Uwe Rosler has dimissed talk linking him with the vacant manager’s position at Norwich City this week.

Rosler had dropped to as low as 1/8 in some bookmakers to become the new head coach of Norwich, but has put a damper on those rumours in his latest press conference.

The German manager has been touted to be the next Norwich manager after the Canaries let go of Alex Neil earlier this month, who was sacked with the club outside of the play-offs.

When asked about the speculation, Rosler said this:

It’s a shame I have to say something about what is on certain web blogs.

The club has not been approached by anyone, I have not been approached by anyone. It is fake news.

Players and staff are still very committed. I have another year contract – everything else is speculation.

Norwich now sit five points off the top-six and still have a slim chance of breaking into a play-off slot between now and the end of the season.

However, the search for a new head coach does not seem to have progressed at all. This may be due to the club’s structure change, with a sporting director being a priority ahead of a managerial appointment.

Huddersfield have placed their head of football, Stuart Webber, on garden leave, with it expected that he will become the new sporting director at Norwich.
