Alex Neil leaves Norwich City

Norwich City Football Club have confirmed that Alex Neil has been sacked from his post as the first-team manager.

Much has been made in the last two seasons about Neil’s reign as the Norwich manager but it has finally come to an end today, with the Scotsman being relieved of his duties.

The Canaries are currently sat in eighth place on the Championship table and remain some way off the play-off places. It’s been a considerably underwhelming season so far for Norwich and the decision to sack Neil is understandable.

Alan Irvine will take caretaker charge of the team for tomorrow’s clash against Blackburn Rovers, but the club will now actively look around for replacements as they look to make a late charge for a play-off position this season in an attempt to return to the Premier League at the first time of asking.
