With Yannick Wildschut edging closer to a move to Carrow Road from Wigan, Norwich are apparently set to allow a striker to leave the club on loan.
21-year-old striker Carlton Morris is set to complete a loan move to Rotherham until the end of the season subject to paperwork being completed, Norwich have confirmed.
Morris made his first-team debut in March 2015 with a 13-minute cameo in a 1-0 defeat to Wigan but has failed to make an appearance since despite making the first-team bench seven times this season.
In the 2014/15 season, Morris spent two loan spells away from Norwich, firstly with Oxford United and later with York City but failed to really impress with either side.
Last season he spent the entire team with Scottish side Hamilton Academical where he scored eight goals in 33 appearances but that hasn’t helped him break into the first-team squad.
Alex Neil has spoken about his frustration about failing to agree a loan deal for the striker sooner but is happy he will go out and further his development.
“It was a big frustration of mine for Carlton in the early part of the season because I wanted to get him out on loan.
“I’m pleased for him that he’s now got this move. Carlton needs to continue his path in terms of playing football, and this will certainly allow him to do that.”
