It was widely reported last week that Crystal Palace had bid £9million for Norwich City winger Robbie Brady, but Sam Allardyce has now ruled out a move for the Irish international after his side agreed a deal to sign Patrick van Aanholt from Sunderland.
According to a report from the Irish Independent, Brady was always seen as a backup plan for Palace and the Eagles were only planning to make a move for him if they couldn’t manage to sign van Aanholt.

This means that Burnley are now the front-runners to sign the 25-year-old. The Premier League side are in the market for a winger and having seemingly missed out on signing Hull City’s Robert Snodgrass, they are expected to rekindle their interest in Brady.
According to the report, Burnley are still negotiating a deal for the Irish star, one that could be worth up to £12m if the player hits all of the specified add-on criteria whilst at Sean Dyche’s side.
