Norwich 2-2 Southampton: 5 Things We Learned

Norwich managed to secure a place in the fourth round draw as a Steven Naismith equaliser forced Southampton into a replay.

Norwich were not the better team at all during the game, and Virgil Van Dijk scored a fantastic volley in the first half to ensure that the Saints went in at the break ahead.

However, Cameron Jerome was felled by Southampton ‘keeper Harry Lewis, who was making his debut, and Steven Whittaker converted the resulting penalty.

Maya Yoshida rose above Russell Martin to head home a cross with 67 minutes gone, and it looked like Norwich’s FA Cup dreams would fall at the first hurdle once again.

However, in the second minute of injury time, a Steven Naismith header gave Norwich a vital equaliser that means they will face Southampton again on January 18th.

Here are five things that we learned from Norwich’s draw. Agree with our findings? Comment below or tweet us your thoughts to @ReadNorwich.
