Cameron Jerome, who has had a mixed time at Norwich, with a wonderful season in the championship before a dismal outing in the ‘big league’, was speaking to the EDP this morning about Norwich City’s promotion push.
Speaking to the press, he said:
I’ll score goals given chances with the players in this squad. I will be disappointed if I don’t score goals and I feel I am one of the better forwards in this division
Cocky words from the 30-year-old forward, but luckily he appears to have the talent to back it up, with five goals in only twice as many games this season, at big games such as Newcastle away and the derby earlier in the season.
For me it would have to be something dramatically wrong if we didn’t get promoted
Clearly he believes that promotion is the only option this year, and rightly so. But arguably, the way he has been talking about it seems somewhat complacent and overconfident, but that might just be the nerves.
He also went on to talk about other teams fighting for those three precious promotion spots, other than the obvious three who were relegated last year, he named: Wolves, Sheff. Wed and Brighton as teams who will push.
Cameron Jerome has scored 30 goals in 78 appearances in a yellow strip, which is just over a goal every 2.5 games.
