Norwich City have already booked their place in the next round of the EFL Trophy with a 5-0 win away at Barnet tonight.
Norwich have progressed through with two wins out of two in the group so far, sending them to the next round with one game still to play against MK Dons.
The Canaries fielded a very strong side, with Paul Jones, Sergi Canos, Alex Pritchard, Josh Murphy, Louis Thompson and Nelson Oliveira amongst the names on the teamsheet.
It was Josh Murphy who was first to show his class. He raced onto a through ball and slotted the ball into the far right corner to hand Norwich the lead moments before the half-time interval.
Murphy then doubled Norwich’s lead ten minutes into the second half when he raced onto a Oliveira through ball to pass the ball through the legs of the goalkeeper.
Barnet were put to the sword late on as Sergi Canos scored a fine volley from the edge of the box, with the aid of a deflection, and then Oliveira scored a sublime goal from distance to make it 4-0.
Murphy managed to finish off his hat-trick in the dying embers of the game, as he finished in style to complete his first senior hat-trick.
There were plenty of impressive performers for Norwich, with Ben Godfrey, Nelson Oliveira and Ray Grant all playing pivotal roles in the win. However, I have gone for Josh Murphy.
The electric winger scored a fine hat-trick of goals for Norwich and was fantastic all night for the away side. His pace and direct play terrorised the Barnet back line all night, eventually earning Norwich the three points and a place in the next round.
