Norwich City moved up to 2nd in the Championship table today with a 2-1 win over Nottingham Forest at the County Ground this afternoon.
Norwich dominated the early proceedings and had the perfect chance to open the scoring when Wes Hoolahan was brought down in the box. However, the Irishman then saw his spot-kick saved by the Forest ‘keeper, with Cameron Jerome blazing the rebound well, well, over the bar from six-yards out.
Nottingham Forest then took the lead when Vellios reacted quickest to a rebound off the post to tap in – just seven minutes after Hoolahan’s penalty miss.
The Canaries, however, responded well in the second half. Jacob Murphy’s corner fell for Jonny Howson in the box, with the midfielder firing a shot in off the post to level the scores.
Things became even better for Alex Neil’s side shortly after, with Graham Dorrans rifling a shot into the far corner from outside the box to give City the win.
