Norwich City moved up to fourth in the table last night with a 2-1 win against Wigan at Carrow Road.
Alex Neil’s side found themselves 2-0 up inside ten minutes and took their foot off the gas for the rest of the game – which caused problems. Wigan pulled a goal back late on – making for a tense finale to the match.
Jacob Murphy opened the scoring for Norwich after just two minutes. He closed down Adam Bogdan and tackled the Wigan ‘keeper before slotting the ball into an empty net.
Murphy then grabbed his second of the match minutes later. Hoolahan’s shot was deflected and looped over to the backpost, where Murphy was waiting to head the ball in on the line.
Jordi Gomez pulled a late goal back for Wigan – firing the ball into the bottom corner from the edge of the box.
