Norwich City travel away to face Peterborough tonight in their first ever Checkatrade Trophy match.
The competition replaces the Johnstones Paint Trophy, adding 16 Premier League and Championship academies to existing Football League teams in the cup.
Norwich were handed an invite due to their Category One status academy, and because a number of Premier League clubs declined the invite.
Many supporters are against the tournament and are planning to boycott it, but it will be a good chance for Norwich’s young players to gain some first-team experience against experienced professionals in a competitive environment.
The rules state that Norwich must field at least six players under the age of 21. This means that Norwich could field up to five first-team players, which could be useful to gain match fitness or to regain form.
Another interesting point is that draws will automatically go to penalties, with the winner of the shootout handed extra points.
So, here is our predicted Norwich line-up…
