Norwich City booked their place in the next round of the EFL Cup last night with an emphatic 6-1 win over Coventry.
Norwich hammered the League One outfit, despite making 11 changes from Sunday’s draw with Ipswich in the Championship.
Kyle Lafferty opened the scoring for Norwich, firing home after Sergi Canos sent him through on goal. Canos then got himself on the scoresheet. He curled the ball into the bottom corner from the edge of the box for his first Norwich goal.
Coventry pulled one back from the spot just after half-time, with Harry Toffolo having been adjudged to have pulled back the Coventry forward in the box.
Norwich soon made it 3-1, with Russell Martin flicking a James Maddison corner into the back of the net.
Jacob Murphy then made it 4-1, he took his time on the edge of the box before curling a fine strike into the far corner.
Ben Godfrey then came off the bench to play at right-back on his debut. He made it 6-1 by smashing a sensational strike into the top corner from the edge of the box.
