Jerome: Draw is a fair result

Norwich City goalscorer Cameron Jerome has admitting that a draw was a fair result in the East Anglian Derby.

When speaking to canaries.co.uk, the City front-man said that there was very little in it, and that Norwich did well to weather the storm from Ipswich in the second half.

There wasn’t much in the game. They had pressure in the second half which we managed to stand up to, and probably a draw is a fair result.

Jerome said that Norwich have had a good start to the season, with two wins and two draws leaving them unbeaten still. However, Jerome said that it is crucial Norwich start turning their draws into wins.

It’s obviously a good start to the season, though we’ve got to start turning the draws into victories. If we can do that away from home, then we stand ourselves in good stead.

The Englishman spoke about his goal, the opener that gave Norwich the lead, and praised his teammate and captain Jonny Howson for his role in the goal.

It just dropped to me nicely after good awareness from Jonny (Howson). I saw the gap and I went for it, and luckily for us it rolled in the corner.

Jerome also reiterated the importance of getting the first goal in a game, but vented his frustration at the Ipswich goal conceded by the Canaries.

The first goal is always quite important, and we thought it’d be a totally different game if we got the first goal but their goal was sloppy from our point of view.

Norwich’s next game is an EFL Cup clash with Coventry City on Tuesday night.
