Norwich City moved up to second in the Championship last night with an assured 1-0 win against Bristol City at Carrow Road.
Many anticipated a tough test from Bristol City – who sat top of the league coming into the match – but Norwich were able to ease past Lee Johnson’s side.
Norwich were confident and calm in possession, with Bristol City unable to break past Norwich’s rock solid defence.
The home side took the lead late into the second half. Ivo Pinto collected the ball on the right, his ball into Wes Hoolahan was flicked on by the Irishman, with Jonny Howson trapping the ball and firing it into the far corner to give City the lead.
Norwich will now be preparing to face Ipswich Town on Sunday, in the first East Anglian derby since the play-off semi-final last year.
