Fulham resigned to losing McCormack

According to Get West London, Norwich’s Championship rivals Fulham have entered talks over a replacement for Ross McCormack, the man who scored 21 league goals last season, leading to rife speculation about amove away from Craven Cottage.

Norwich have been the most closely linked club to McCormackin the last couple of days, while Newcastle United, Aston Villa and play-off finalists Sheffield Wednesday are also thought to have taken an interest in the 29-year-old. Fulham seem to have accepted that McCormack will be leaving and have identified Montpellier’s Steve Mounie as a replacement.

According to the source, McCormack is likely to join Norwich would cost the Canaries £12million.

Norwich have already had a bid of £10million rejected by Slavisa Jokanovic’s side, but they are prepared to increase that with City manager Alex Neil hoping to wrap up the deal quickly.

McCormack would add to the Yellows’ proven Championship quality and would go some way to filling the gap left in the front line, with Cameron Jerome, Carlton Morris and Kyle Lafferty the club’s only strikers.

Of that group, only Jerome is widely thought of as an adequate second-tier forward, whilst Kyle Lafferty has been loaned out twice in three transfer windows under Alex Neil.
