Norwich target set to leave Spurs

Tottenham youngster Alex Pritchard looks set for a summer exit from White Hart Lane, with Sky Sports reporting the North London club would be willing to let him leave for a fee in the region of £8m.

It’s believed there are two Premier League clubs sniffing around the England U21s international, with Norwich City being one of the many more Championship clubs also interested in the winger.

Pritchard made his name in the Championship after a successful loan spell with Brentford, as he looked to force his way into the frame at his parent club. It was reported Spurs told Pritchard he’d be given the chance to prove himself at the Champions League club.

But Pritchard, who signed a four-year contract last August, spent the back-end of last season on loan at Premier League strugglers West Brom in an attempt to find his form. But it proved fruitless, making only three substitute appearances for the Baggies.

Even though his development was stalled by a serious ankle injury last summer while on international duty for England U21s, Alex Neil could still be tempted to spend big on the young winger. While he hasn’t proved it at the top-level Pritchard, who can play across the midfield attack, still has his best years ahead of him.

A year playing at the top end of the Championship could be what’s needed to kick-start his stagnating career and help fire Norwich back to the top flight.
