You may have noticed this season that we have done our own man of the match after each game, as I pick my personal man of the match from every game.
Over the course of the season, I have kept a tally of how many man of the match awards that each player has won. There is one player who has now already won the award with two games to go, as no one can catch him up.
Despite only joining the club in January from Wolfsburg – this man made a massive impact at Norwich during his time on the pitch before picking up a season-ending injury against Crystal Palace.
So, our Read Norwich player of the season for the 2015/16 is… Timm Klose!

He only played ten matches for Norwich, but was our man of the match in five of those matches, which is the highest amount of votes any Norwich player has managed this season. This also says a lot about the consistency of our players this season.
Jonny Howson was the only player who could have caught up to him in the last two matches with four votes, but his season-ending injury means that he is now unable to do so and Klose has been crowned the winner.
Klose averaged 14 defensive actions (clearances, blocks, tackles) per game over his ten matches, the most by far of any Norwich player this season. He also won 62% of his duels, which is the joint-most of any player in the entire squad too (outfield players).

The big Swiss defender also managed to bag himself a goal. He headed in the opening goal against Newcastle in the 3-2 win when he glanced Robbie Brady’s excellent free-kick into the back of the net.
With relegation looming and looking very likely, Norwich will have a very hard task on their hand of keeping Klose at the club for next season. Norwich fans will be praying that Klose will reward the fans for their fantastic support for him and help the club regain promotion to the Premier League next season.
I know that a lot of you will be surprised (and probably moan) that Klose has won this after playing just ten matches. However, I have done it solely off of our man of the match votes, and he has the most!
This won’t be the only player of the season we announce, as we are sure to do a writers player of the season too and an end of season awards, so keep your eyes peeled for those in the coming weeks!
