According to Norwich manager Alex Neil, star centre-back is touch-and-go as to whether he will be available to play in the crucial relegation clash against Sunderland in the early kickoff on Saturday, where Norwich can go seven points clear of the relegation zone with just four games left to play.
The Swiss-defender had to be carried off last week against Crystal Palace after jarring his knee midway through the first half. Norwich went on to lose the dull match 1-0 courtesy of a Jason Puncheon goal. As Alex Neil said, “it’s a case of wrapping him up in cotton wool and see how he does”.
Speaking to Norwich City TV, Alex Neil said this:
Timm will be a last minute call.
He’s not done a great deal this week, however he’s in great nick and he’s played a lot of games for us since he’s been here.
During the press conference, Neil confirmed that Russell Martin was in contention for the game after suffering from a short-term injury, he has trained all week and seems fine.
Russell’s fine, he’s trained this week and there’s not a problem.
Alex Tettey is still out with his ankle injury he suffered against Chelsea earlier in March and it doesn’t look like he will play again until the summer, when Norwich will hopefully be preparing themselves for another season in the Premier League.
