Norwich City midfielder Todd Cantwell has signed his first ever professional contract for the club on a three-year deal, as confirmed by Norwich’s site.
The 18-year-old attacking midfielder is currently sidelined with injury but was impressing many before his spell on the sidelines.
He has been a prominent figure for the under-21 side, despite being just 18, and is seen as one of Norwich’s best young prospects in the current set-up.
Cantwell is a local lad and has been at Norwich in various youth sides for a number of years, so it is a massive step in his career for him to sign his first ever professional contract with the club and take his first stride into professional football.

He has also played for the under-18s this season and starred as Norwich reached the quarter-finals of the FA Youth Cup earlier this season, as they were knocked out by Manchester City away from home.
Speaking after signing the deal, Cantwell said this:
It’s brilliant to get a professional contract, especially here at Norwich.
I’ve been working so hard to get one having played for Norwich all of my career. This season has been a good one for me, although I felt I had more to give until I got injured.
My focus now is on coming back stronger next season. It’s all about what I do between now and the end of the summer to get myself as ready as possible.
