Elliott Bennett could be set to stay at Bristol City, on loan from Norwich, for longer after his manager Steve Cotterill confirmed he is in talks to extend his loan.
Since signing in September, Bennett has quickly become a crucial player for the Robins and has made fifteen appearances for them at the right wing back position and keeping stalwart Mark Little out of the side.
It has been reported that Bristol City would like to sign Bennett on a permanent deal but if they are unable to reach an agreement with Norwich, they will aim to extend the current loan deal until the end of the season.
Bennett’s loan success is a contrast to some of the other deals Bristol City have made. Simon Cox, Callum Robinson and Liam Moore have failed to become regulars at the Robins and will return to their parent clubs in due course.
When asked about Bennett’s loan, Cotterill told the Bristol Post:
We’re in talks with Norwich and we are exploring all of the options.
As for Simon Cox, Liam Moore and Callum Robinson, they are all going back on Monday.
