Norwich City came out as shock winners after beating Manchester United 2-1 earlier today. Cameron Jerome and Alex Tettey got the goals for Alex Neil’s side, as Norwich beat United at Old Trafford for the first time since 1989. The City boss spoke to canaries.co.uk after the match.
I’m just really pleased for the players, mainly because a lot of questions have been posed of myself and them.
Neil spoke about Norwich’s response today, after some disappointing results and performances for the Canaries.
The best way to answer that is to go and win games. It’s not been easy and I’ve not been used to not winning games, so I’m really pleased for everyone involved to get a victory at a really difficult place.

Norwich really showed what they were capable of, with Cameron Jerome and Alex Tettey firing the canaries to only their second win in twelve games.
The City boss reflected on the team’s performance
Basically we didn’t make any of the mistakes we’ve made earlier in the season, which helped.
When you don’t concede that first goal, the longer the game goes on the more chance you’ve got.
We’ve got quality players going forward and we can cause problems. We’ve scored a fair amount of goals this season.
With Norwich now sitting just outside the relegation zone, Neil mentioned how much it means to the Norwich players and now what to expect, with almost half of the season now gone.
We are up for the fight. We want to be competitive. This will give the players confidence, I’m really pleased for them.
Next up for the Canaries is an away trip to Tottenham Hotspur before a big match at Carrow Road on the 28th December against the Premier League’s bottom side, Aston Villa.
