According to TeamTalk, Canaries’ goalkeeper John Ruddy has recently stated how his club’s performances have been worthy of stronger results.
Speaking before Norwich’s clash at home to Arsenal on Saturday, Ruddy admitted that his team must seek for improvements in their performances. The one time England international is also hoping to re-gather his finest of form.
The newly-promoted side are currently sixteenth in the Premier League standings, only winning one of their previous seven matches.
The English ‘keeper said that his bottom half side must conquer their doubts and strive towards improvements that will see the Canaries avoid relegation at the end of this season.
The England capped ‘keeper has said this.
All the ingredients are there, we just need to find the balance to get the three points we have often deserved.
I don’t think I’ve been as good as I have been previously, but that’s football. Form is temporary. I’m more than confident in myself. I know more often than not that my performances will be there.
The standards we’ve set ourselves have to remain in the 25 games we have left. We take each game at a time. Against Arsenal, we need to make it difficult for them but we also need to carry a threat ourselves.
Norwich coach Alex Neil has sided with his number one goalkeeper and is in favour of the idea of his side getting better, despite the men in green and yellow struggling to find a solid and effective balance within their squad.
The Scottish manager said:
You’re always concerned when you don’t win a game. Over recent weeks we’ve found a decent balance, but we can still improve.
We’re going to have to be a team that changes our style from week to week to get results. Arsenal will want to put points on the board. They’ve had a good season. They’re the hardest attacking team to stop.
Confirmed by the Norwich coach, former Peterborough player Russell Martin will return to the squad for Sunday’s clash with the Gunners, meanwhile attacking midfielder Alex Tettey remains unavailable due to and injury.
