Norwich City midfielder Elliott Bennett has said that he has high hopes to enter the international scene in the near future.
The Brighton-born right midfielder is currently out on loan to Championship side Bristol City and is eligible to be called up to the Jamaican national side. He has been in good form since joining the Robins, impressing on a few occasions for the newly-promoted side.
26-year-old Bennett has been at Norwich since 2011 and has played in over 66 league games for the Canaries, scoring two goals. A string of bad injuries has ruled him out of action for a long time during his Norwich career and is one of the reasons behind his current loan spell.

He missed out on call-ups to the Jamaica squad last year due to injuries and hopes that if he continues his form for Bristol, he can make the squad again and add to Norwich’s fairly large contingent of international stars.
I got called up for Jamaica for the Copa America and the Gold Cup but was injured in the games leading up to that. I qualify for them on my father’s side and if I got the opportunity again it is definitely something I would like to explore.
Playing international football is a great experience and something I would thoroughly enjoy.
I just want to keep my head down now and look at the next game, rather than what can happen in football is you look too far ahead, then you get swept away if you get injured or drop a bit of form.
