Norwich City have agreed a season-long loan deal with Dynamo Kyiv for striker Dieumerci Mbokani, according to reports by TalkSport. This comes after a long drawn-out saga with the striker originally being linked to Norwich many weeks back. The rumour had practically disappeared altogether so this morning’s progressions have come as a surprise to Norwich City fans. With failed attempts to sign the likes of Mattia Destro, it will come as a relief for Alex Neil to finally land a striker to help ease their problems up front.

Norwich were previously linked with a €6 million deal for the striker, however Dynamo Kyiv were supposedly holding out for more. A loan deal may suit the Canaries as Mbokani is unproven in the Premier League.
At the age of 29, Dieumerci Mbokani is an experienced forward who has proved to be prolific throughout his career, with impressive spells at Standard Liege, Anderlecht and most recently Dynamo Kyiv. He’s managed 16 goals in 33 appearances with Kyiv, and that same one-in-two goal ratio is something he’s reproduced (near enough) everywhere he’s been, even on international duty with Congo (15 in 30).

Previous reports have quoted Mbokani expressing his eagerness to play in the Premier League, and now it appears that Norwich City have offered that opportunity. Mbokani is set to undergo a medical in Norfolk.
This may well pave the way for the disgraced Lewis Grabban and the out-of-favour Gary Hooper to leave as rumours have suggested. However, with three bids rejected for Benik Afobe in the past week, it’s looking increasingly likely that Dieumerci Mbokani will not be the only forward to step through the doors at Carrow Road. SkyBet have also slashed odds for the signing of Charlie Austin, however there is no other report to suggest that the transfer will take place.
