A hopeless Sunderland performance was capitalised upon by Norwich City who showed flair and determination to dismantle the hosts. Tettey did well to hold down the midfield, with partners Dorrans and Howson being given acres of space to operate as Sunderland backed off. Hoolahan and Redmond offered that extra bit of creativity and Jerome led the line superbly. And what’s all this talk about Norwich needing a striker when you’ve got the Scottish duo of Martin and Whittaker? Mattia Destro, eat your heart out…

Over 41,000 packed out the Stadium Of Light for this match. There were far fewer by full time – or rather – 60 minutes, as City ran riot.

Norwich City had played well but not taken their chances vs Crystal Palace. However pre-match press conferences revealed they were confident they could get something on their first away trip.



Pantilimon did well with Robbie Brady’s original shot, but the rebound fell straight to Martin.

Wes Hoolahan played a pivotal role, providing the one-two for Whittaker to go on and score.
