Today, it has been reported that Norwich City are interested in FC Porto’s number 10, Juan Quintero, according to Tutto Mercato. It seems a very unlikely move, given that the player is highly regarded and has previously been linked with Arsenal, but it’s a rumour nonetheless. You could say it’s this season’s Quagliarella – not much in it, but enough to make the Norwich City fan base dream.
Quintero is a 22-year-old attacking midfielder who, at 5’6, has the same agile physique that many admire in Wes Hoolahan. Skilful, dynamic, technically able. It sounds far too good to be true – and it most likely is.
The Colombian has scored 6 goals in 35 appearances for FC Porto since making a move from Serie B side Pescara back in 2013. He’s also represented his country thirteen times, scoring once. That solitary goal came in the 2014 World Cup and proved pivotal for Colombia who won the game 2-1 as a result.
The reliability of the source is very questionable and the transfer itself seems very unlikely.
Still, there’s nothing wrong with looking at his youtube highlights reel – all for good measure.
