Norwich City’s preseason came to a close as they beat Championship side Brentford 2-1 at Carrow Road. It rounds off what has been a successful campaign, and has given both Alex Neil and the Norwich faithful reasons to be excited for next season. The team that featured today is likely to be similar to that which walks out in a week’s time on City’s return to the Premier League.

Johnny Howson (above) battles in the midfield. He may also have to battle for his place this season, with plenty of options being available to Alex Neil. Bradley Johnson (bottom left) struggled to find his flow in the match with many a missed pass. Graham Dorrans (bottom right) played a large proportion of the game but may struggle to make the first team squad next Saturday.
Mulumbu (right) and Hoolahan (left) were both lively again and you would expect them to occupy places on Alex Neil’s Crystal Palace team sheet next Saturday. However, Mulumbu left the field early after sustaining a foot injury – it remains to be seen whether he’ll be fit. There’s no doubt he’s been one of City’s most impressive individuals this preseason.

The jury is still out as to whether these two can cope in the Premier League. Andre Wisdom may be the more preferable option but it’s a risk to throw him in with such little time to settle.

Matching boots and matching haircuts – both Tony Andreu (right) and Johnny Howson (left) looked to impress.
Something funny, Alex? Oh right, yeah, we think Bradley Johnson’s haircut is ridiculous too, but if he scores more goals he can do what he likes.
