Norwich City have today announced that next week’s friendly at Cambridge United will be played over four quarters of 30 minutes in an effort to give as many first-team players as much game time as possible.
The match on Friday 17th July (KO 7.30pm) at the Abbey Stadium will be Norwich City’s third friendly of the summer and will give boss, Alex Neil, the opportunity to gain an in-depth look at his full squad ahead of the Canaries flying abroad for games against Maccaibi Haifa and FC Augsburg.
This unusual move be useful for fringe members of the squad to get a chance to impress Neil and give him something to think about before the hard work starts against Crystal Palace on 8th August. It will also give both sets of supporters the chance to see new signings in action as well as give fans an extra fix following the weeks without watching their team play.
The friendly against Cambridge is also significant for goalkeeper John Ruddy, who makes a return to the club that he started his career with eleven years ago.
Tickets for the match against Cambridge United are priced at £15 for adults, £10 for over 65s/18-21s/students and £5 for U17s from the usual outlets.
