Sam Kelly was amongst a group of players who were released from the club on May 27th, following City’s rise to the Premier League. However, it has been announced today that the Norwich youngster has already found a new club.
Port Vale, who narrowly missed League One relegation with just one win in their last ten, have signed the 21-year old winger on a two year deal.

His final game in a Norwich City shirt came against Everton at Carrow Road where he replaced Carlton Morris as a 79th minute substitute. Regularly he has missed out with the likes of Jacob Murphy being preferred on the wings, and the club chose not to renew his contract when it ended this summer. He left along with Callum McFadden, also another encouraging youth prospect – clearly neither were deemed up to scratch. He did however offer important goals vs Leicester and Fulham, but it’s likely the winger himself wanted to further his career elsewhere in the search of more game time.
Rob Page had this to say upon confirming the transfer: “I’m very pleased to welcome Sam to Port Vale Football Club. I’m sure he will be a valuable player for us over the next few years.”
