Norwich City Forward Rewarded With Australia Award Nomination

Norwich City striker Mohamed Touré has earned a nomination for Australia’s men’s footballer of the year following his explosive start to life in England.

Since arriving from Denmark in January, the 22-year-old has registered 18 goal contributions in 17 appearances. He scored again during Saturday’s 3-1 victory over Sheffield United. Despite this prolific form, manager Philippe Clement wants to spread the offensive responsibility across his squad to drive their promotion push.

Clement Demands Wider Attacking Threat

The head coach is building a dynamic forward line featuring Anthony Musaba, Andre Brookes, and Mathias Kvistgaarden. Clement noted the developing partnerships behind his main striker.

“Anthony, Mo, and Andre didn’t play many minutes together yet, and for sure not with Anis (Ben Slimane) behind them,” Clement confirmed.

“So new connections there, but you see more and more the other offensive players start to understand also what to do, how we want to play, what positions to be in.”

Managing Striker Fitness For Playoffs

Former England international Kevin Phillips warned that managing the forward’s fitness remains crucial for any top-six ambitions, especially after previous groin injury issues.

The physical press and link-up play provided by the Adelaide United product creates vital scoring opportunities across the frontline.

Clement will assess his attacking combinations when Birmingham City visit Carrow Road on Wednesday.
