Sam Field has completed a permanent Norwich City transfer from QPR, with the Canaries confirming the midfielder’s return to Carrow Road. The move turns last season’s loan spell into a full deal and gives Philippe Clement another known Championship option before pre-season fully ramps up.
Norwich announced the signing through their official channels, with the club presenting Field as a permanent arrival after his second-half spell in Norfolk. The 28-year-old had joined from QPR in February and quickly became part of Clement’s midfield group during the closing months of the campaign.
The confirmation matters because it removes one more piece of uncertainty from City’s summer rebuild. Field is not an unknown punt, nor a player who needs months to understand the demands at Carrow Road. He has already worked under Clement, already knows the dressing room, and already has the Championship experience Norwich need around a younger squad.

The timing is useful for Norwich. Clement still needs further recruitment, but keeping Field gives him a reliable defensive-midfield profile while the club continue to shape the rest of the squad.
