Norwich City travel away from Norfolk to take on Millwall at The Den on Easter Monday in the Championship.

The Canaries are looking to get back to winning ways against Alex Neil’s side after being held to a frustrating 1-1 draw by Portsmouth on Good Friday.

Millwall are second in the league after their 2-1 win over Middlesbrough last time out, and are seeking another three points in their pursuit of automatic promotion to the Premier League.

Norwich, meanwhile, are playing to finish as high in the league as possible to set them up for the 2026/27 campaign under Philippe Clement.

How Norwich lined up against Millwall in August

The reverse fixture at Carrow Road was the first game of the season and Liam Manning’s first competitive match in charge of the Canaries.

Vladan Kovacevic made his debut between the sticks for Norwich and was suspect for both of the goals that were conceded, letting one in at his near post and the other through his legs.

City played a back five of Jack Stacey, Jakov Medic, Harry Darling, Jose Cordoba, and Jeffrey Schlupp, although Schlupp pushed up at times, which meant that it alternated between a back five and four.

Kenny McLean was injured and Pelle Mattsson had not yet been signed, so Mirko Topic and Jacob Wright were the two central midfielders.

Amankwah Forson and Ante Crnac then lined up in the two number ten positions behind Josh Sargent, who scored through goalkeeper Steven Benda kicking the ball off his back and into the net.

It is safe to say that the starting line-up selected by Clement for this game will look very different to the one that played on the opening day.

Latest Norwich team news

Norwich have more options to pick from after the international break, despite Ruairi McConville suffering an injury that has ruled him out of the Easter matches.

Jack Stacey, Ben Chrisene, Oscar Schwartau, and Mohamed Toure all came back to the squad on Friday, with Schwartau starting out wide, and could be in with a chance of starting against the Lions.

Jose Cordoba, Ali Ahmed, and Anis Ben Slimane were rested after playing for their respective nations on Tuesday and Wednesday, but they may now be in a position to start.

Ante Crnac, Harry Amass, Lucien Mahovo, Mirko Topic, Gabe Forsyth, Jovon Makama, Papa Diallo, and Matej Jurasek remain out with longer term injuries.

Predicted Norwich XI to take on Millwall

Clement was forced to name a bit of a patchwork starting line-up against Portsmouth due to injury and fitness concerns, but he may be able to field a stronger team against Millwall.

Kovacevic should keep his place between the sticks, as the number one, but the defence in front of him could see two changes.

Clement could bring Chrisene into the fold for the first time since returning from injury to provide a natural left-footer at left-back, allowing Kellen Fisher to play in his natural right-back berth.

The other change could see Cordoba return to replace Jakov Medic as the left-sided centre-back, after the Croatian’s uncomfortable play on the ball impacted the team’s performance on Friday.

Provided they are fit enough to do so, Mattsson and McLean should remain in the team as the first-choice midfield pairing, as the Dane looks to make it three goals in three games.

In the attacking midfield trio, Ahmed could enter the fray to provide natural pace and width out on the left flank, coming in to replace Jacob Wright. That would allow Paris Maghoma to play as the number ten, with Schwartau on the right.

The final change could come in the centre-forward position. Mathias Kvistgaarden has gone seven games without a goal as a starter and Toure could be given the nod after looking sharp off the bench against Portsmouth.

Full predicted Norwich XI to face Millwall: Kovacevic; Fisher, Darling, Cordoba, Chrisene; Mattsson, McLean (C); Schwartau, Maghoma, Ahmed; Toure
