If Norwich City folk were comic characters…

At the time of writing, I am heading out to Liverpool Comic Con this Friday. For a bit of fun, here are a few Norwich City players and officials and what they would be like as comic characters:

Robert Chase: Lex Luthor

I’ve written before about Robert Chase, and it’s so bizarre that a person who ran Norwich City during one of its most successful periods and saved it from bankruptcy was often presented as a villainous character.

But then it could be argued Lex Luthor is a successful business person too in the Superman world so that counts.

Grant Hanley: Desperate Dan

Credit to Coop and Duck for this one – if you haven’t heard the Farke rap, you really should.

But yes, Grant Hanley as a burly caricature is notable, though I would argue he was a bit more streetwise.

Zoe Webber: Black Widow

Insert “because she works undercover and I have no idea what she does” joke here.

But then that can also mean she’s very good at what she does because you don’t notice!

Darren Eadie: The Flash

Like the song says “Darren Eadie, he’s dead speedy.”

Fun fact- I once appeared with a friend on Mustard TV doing improv in front of him. He looked understandably baffled.

Rob Earnshaw: Spider-Man

True there have been other Norwich City players that could pull off acrobatic celebrations but he did it with an extra bit of style.

Gary Holt: Juggernaut

Affectionately nicknamed “Three Lungs” there was a certain indefatigable drive that allowed him to provide the industrial engine in central midfield.

Kenny McLean: Asterix

Not just in terms of his energy but in terms of his courage and resourcefulness. A great example for the team.

Phillipe Clement: Professor X

A leader who decides who works best for different environments and situations. And not just because he’s bald.

Oh, and it would also work with Papa Smurf – A magical leader who brings together a wide range of characters in a rural environment.

Delia Smith: She-Hulk

On the surface, Delia may seem quiet. But then there was the time a journalist caught her at the wrong time when she said, “If anyone wants to take over, they can have it”.

And yes, we will never be allowed to forget the “Let’s be having you” moment, where she really cut loose.

My heroes…

As we prepare to reach the end of the season, will next season prove a big character arc for our team?
