Norwich are now all but relegated thanks to a disappointing loss to fellow relegation-threatened side Brighton.
It was a fairly boring game with only a few chances created, spread equally between both teams.
Norwich started the game the better of the two sides but didn’t really create any clear cut chances. A few blocked shots from Hernadez were as close to a goal as any team got in the first twenty minutes.
Dominating in the opening exchanges and then conceding has become a running theme this season and that didn’t change on Saturday. Klose made a missed placed pass straight to Bissuma, who started a blistering counter-attack which ended in a neat finish from record signing Trossard.
Brighton took control from this point but they too struggled to create chances.
It took the Canaries until late in the second period to finally break this Brighton dominance and they started to look promising but again, lacked composure in the final third. They did almost get a crucial point when Idah hit the post but apart from that, there was little for fans to get excited about.
Here’s how we rated the Norwich players.
Tim Krul - 6
Got a strong hand to a powerful Bissuma shot but apart from that, he was inactive for large parts of the game. He also couldn’t be blamed for the Brighton goal.
Max Aarons - 7
Linked up well with Duda and the pair were causing the Seagulls’ defence problems in the opening exchanges. When he had the ball, he wasn’t afraid to take on his man.
Ben Godfrey - 7
The England u21 captain wasn’t required to get out of first gear but was easily beaten to the ball for the goal.
Timm Klose - 5
Back after his small suspension and was at fault for the visitor’s goal as he gave it away in a dangerous area. Apart from that, it was a solid centre back performance
Jamal Lewis - 7
He was caught out of position for Brighton’s winner but apart from that, he was extremely good linking up with both Hernandez and McLean.
Alex Tettey - 6
Had a speculative shot from long range but was quiet, apart from that.
Kenny McLean - 8
Transitioned from defence to attack faultlessly and put some balls into the box but they didn’t find anyone in a yellow and green shirt.
Onel Hernandez - 8
He looked to have a drive to do well which was lacking in the rest of the team and this drive done him well when he was skipping around defenders and getting good shots off. He also did his bit defensively to help Lewis.
Ondrej Duda - 6
His passing was sublime and he formed triangles with players around him.
Emi Buendia - 7
He was calm and skilful on the ball but apart from that he was quiet and failed to feed Drmic.
Josip Drmic - 5
He looked like he wanted to do well but his touch let him down at crucial times.
