Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris is poised to miss out on his side’s FA Cup clash with Norwich on Wednesday, which could come as a boost to the Canaries.
According to the Evening Standard, Lloris is suffering from a groin injury and Tottenham do not want to risk it against Norwich.
The report claims that the groin strain is also the reason he missed out on Tottenham’s 3-2 defeat to Wolves at the weekend.
This news could be a huge boost to Norwich and a blow for Tottenham ahead of the game on Wednesday night. Lloris is Tottenham’s captain, which suggests that he is a massive presence for Spurs on and off the pitch with his leadership abilities.
Gazzaniga showed why Spurs miss Lloris when he’s absent in Norwich’s clash with Mourinho’s side at Carrow Road in December. The Argentine goalkeeper failed to keep out a tame effort from Mario Vrancic, who hit a shot from 20-yards out with his weak foot and managed to get the ball past Gazzaniga.
So, not only could Spurs be missing Lloris’ leadership, but they could also be missing his shot-stopping skills as Gazzaniga could be a liability in that department.
