Norwich 1-4 Atalanta: Four things we learned

Norwich City were humbled by Champions League side Atalanta on Tuesday as they slumped to a 4-1 defeat.

Despite taking the lead early on through a goal from academy graduate Todd Cantwell, Norwich were well beaten by the Serie A outfit – who finished third in their league last season.

An error from Timm Klose just before half time allowed Atalanta to equalise, with the visitors then striking three times in the second-half.

Atalanta looked a class above in the second-half as they sliced open Norwich’s defence with ease, calling Ralf Fahrmann into action several times and beating him on three occasions. 

Daniel Farke will be hoping to see more from his side when they host French side Toulouse in their final pre-season friendly on Saturday, before starting their Premier League campaign away to Liverpool the following Friday.
