Marshall leaves Norwich by mutual consent

Norwich City have officially confirmed that midfielder Ben Marshall has left the club by mutual consent.

The club have released him from his contract three years early, after he signed a four-year deal last summer.

Marshall joined Norwich from Premier League side Wolves for a fee in the region of £1.5m, but failed to impress head coach Daniel Farke.

He started the 2018/19 campaign at right-back, but a number of costly errors in the opening games led to Max Aarons taking his place and never looking back.

The former Blackburn winger spent the second-half of the season on loan to Millwall, scoring once and missing a penalty against Leeds.

Norwich have now either sold, released or loaned out James Husband, Nelson Oliveira, Ben Marshall, Steven Naismith and Yanic Wildschut this summer – clearing out the deadwood.
