Schalke 1-2 Norwich: Four things learned

Norwich City ended their pre-season tour of Germany with a 2-1 win over Bundesliga side Schalke on Friday.

The Canaries were held by Arminia Bielefeld, 2-2, and beat FC Bonner 4-1 in their other games on the tour.

Josip Drmic, Ralf Fahrmann, Kenny McLean and Emi Buendia were among the players rested for the clash with Schalke.

Teemu Pukki gave Norwich the lead in the first-half as he raced onto an excellent pass from Patrick Roberts before slotting the ball through the legs of the goalkeeper. 

Schalke found their equaliser just after the start of the second-half, as they countered Norwich and Rabbi Matondo converted from close range after Michael McGovern parried a shot into his path.

Mo Leitner then won the game for Norwich as his shot deflected in after good work from Tom Trybull and Pukki on the right.
