The winners and losers of Norwich’s deal for Ralf Fahrmann

Norwich City wrapped up the signing of Schalke goalkeeper Ralf Fahrmann on Friday.

The experienced shot-stopper arrives on a season-long loan deal as the Canaries continue to prepare for life back in the Premier League.

Tim Krul was signed last season to act as the club’s number one, and while he showed flashes of brilliance, Norwich have opted to strengthen their arsenal of goalkeepers.

Fahrmann had a mixed season at Schalke. The team underwhelmed in the Bundesliga, and he encountered his fair share of setbacks, with a mixture of injury problems and the rise of Alexander Nubel condemning him to the bench.

However, he has a chance to show his qualities in the Premier League under the management of his compatriot Daniel Farke.

It is a big signing for Norwich and one that they hope will help to solidify their defence upon returning to the top flight.

Who benefits from this deal, and who doesn’t? We’ve taken a look at the winners and losers of the Canaries recruiting Fahrmann for the season.
