Turnbull rejected Norwich over game time concerns

Motherwell midfielder David Turnbull reportedly rejected a transfer to Norwich City over game time concerns.

According to The Express, via HITC, Turnbull decided to turn down Norwich’s contract offer and join Celtic due to first-team chances.

The report claims that Turnbull was concerned that he would not get enough game time in Norwich’s team next season in the Premier League, so has instead opted to make the move to Celtic in Scotland.

Norwich had an offer of £3.2m accepted for the midfielder after Celtic had publicly claimed negotiations broke down with Turnbull, only for the Scottish giants to return with a new offer – causing him to reject Norwich and join Neil Lennon’s side.

Turnbull enjoyed an impressive year with Motherwell last season, as he found the back of the net 16 times from midfield – whilst also providing eight assists.

Norwich have made one senior signing so far this summer, with Patrick Roberts joining on loan from Manchester City.
