Promoted teams back in the top flight: How their first season unfolded

Norwich City and Sheffield United are the first two side to achieve promotion to the Premier League this season with one more spot to fill via the play-offs.

Daniel Farke’s Norwich have been a joy to watch this season and have rightfully deserved a place in the Premier League and a win on Sunday will ensure they will go up as champions.

However, Sheffield United have written their own underdog story by achieving promotion alongside Norwich. Chris Wilder has guided his side into the Premier League for the first time since their relegation from the big time 12 years ago.

Leeds United, Aston Villa and West Brom are all set for a play-off place, with the fourth and final place still undecided, the only question left to answer this season is who will join the Canaries and the Blades in the Premier League next season?

Let’s take a look back on the last 21 teams promoted to the Premier League and how they managed in their first season back in the top flight.
