Godfrey set for new Norwich contract

Norwich City are hoping to hand midfielder Ben Godfrey a new contract amid interest from the likes of Crystal Palace and West Brom.

HITC reports that interest is mounting in the midfielder, with recently relegated Swansea City keeping tabs on the player.

The 20-year-old spent last season on loan at Shrewsbury and his performances did not go unnoticed, helping the club reach the League One play-off final.

The versatile midfielder has attracted interest from other clubs for some time, but Norwich have been keen to keep hold of him.

The new deal is expected to reflect the progress he has made as a player, with Godfrey tipped to play a big role in the first-team squad next season.

He has been on the fringes of a first-team after he signed back in 2016 but is expected to break through and make a mark in the Championship in the upcoming campaign.
