Norwich City were beaten for the second time in four days as they lost 4-1 to QPR on Easter Monday.
The Canaries were beaten 2-0 by Fulham on Friday and followed up that poor display with another dismal showing in London.
Daniel Farke’s side did, however, take the lead in the 29th minute. Ryan Manning put the ball into his own net after sliding in on Josh Murphy in the six-yard box, with the ball bobbling into the goal.
Within a minute of Norwich scoring, QPR equalised. Massimo Luongo skipped past a host of Norwich challenges to play a one-two and slot the ball past Angus Gunn with ease.
QPR then put in a dominant second-half showing and put Norwich to the sword as they scored three goals and won the game 4-1.
Norwich were unable to cope with the aerial presence of Matt Smith.
Here is how we rated the Canaries after the game…
Angus Gunn: 4
A rare poor game for Gunn. He could do little about three of the four goals, but made a massive misjudgement on Matt Smith’s goal, which made it 2-1 to QPR at a pivotal point in the game.
Ivo Pinto: 5
Did little defensively or going forward. However, the lack of options down the right made it difficult for him to link up when he ventured up the pitch.
Christoph Zimmermann: 6
Excellent in the first-half, but was outdone by Matt Smith for QPR’s third.
Grant Hanley: 5
Constantly gave away fouls and struggled to track runners.
James Husband: 3
Poor, simply poor. He never takes his chance when he gets it, but he continues to get them. When do you call it a day and move him on?
Harrison Reed: 5
Looked good in the first-half and zipped about trying to get the ball and played his part in the goal.
However, in the second-half, he was completely overrun in midfield and failed to break up the play and track runners.
Mario Vrancic: 6
Was one of Norwich’s better players for sure. He worked his socks off in midfield and played some excellent, forward-thinking, passes to set Norwich on the attack.
He was let down a number of times by James Husband or Josh Murphy being too lazy to run after a pass, or being offside.
Wes Hoolahan: 4
Left a massive gap on the right through coming inside and gave the ball away far too often.
James Maddison: 4
Struggled to get into the game and gave the ball away a number of times.
Josh Murphy: 5
Worked hard and produced flashes of quality, but his end product was poor.
Nelson Oliveira: 6
Worked hard up front and held the ball up well at times. He made a number of good runs that his teammates were unable to pick up on.
