Our player of the month: August
Norwich City had a very disappointing opening month to the season under Daniel Farke.
The club currently sit in the relegation zone of the Championship after five games, having won just once in the league.
Norwich played seven games during August – five in the league and two in the cup – and won three, lost three and one draw.
The Canaries held Fulham to a draw on the opening day, lost to Aston Villa, Sunderland and Millwall and beat QPR, Charlton and Swindon.
But we have to announce our player of the month for August, with this an award that goes out to the player with the most man of the match awards during the month.
Our Norwich player of the month for August is… James Maddison!
The talented central midfielder was our man of the match against Swindon and Sunderland in back-to-back games, as well as impressing in other matches throughout the month.
His best game was against Swindon, where he scored his first goal of the season and set-up to goals in a 3-2 win.
Angus Gunn, Harrison Reed, Christoph Zimmermann, Josh Murphy and Nelson Oliveira all picked up one man of the match award each.
