Norwich 3-2 Swindon: Rating the Canaries
Norwich City booked their place in the next round of the League Cup with a 3-2 win over Swindon at Carrow Road.
It was shaky start for the Canaries, with James Maddison having to clear off the line after Smith was sent clear for Swindon.
Cameron Jerome then had an excellent chance of his own as he raced clear on goal but he failed to finish, as he was unable to sort his feet out trying to round the goalkeeper.
The visitors then snatched a surprise lead as Lancashire headed home from a free-kick as Norwich failed to deal with a set-piece.
Daniel Farke’s men were able to respond instantly, as two minutes later Jerome was sent through by James Maddison and his left-footed effort could not be kept out by Vigouroux.
Norwich then scored two goals in quick succession to take a hold of the game. Wes Hoolahan and James Maddison scored in the 39th and 42nd minute.
Swindon pulled one back from another headed set-piece, but were unable to force an equaliser, thanks to some heroics from Angus Gunn.
