Can Rudd replace Ruddy?

Norwich City announced last week that John Ruddy – and six other first-teamers – is to be released next month.

Ruddy’s contract with the club comes to an end on June 30th and it is not going to be extended.

The 30-year-old’s seven-year Norwich career came to an end on the final game of the season at the weekend.

Ruddy kept a clean sheet as Norwich beat QPR 4-0 at Carrow Road, as he was given a farewell for his long service to the club.

But with Ruddy leaving, who will be Norwich’s number one next season?

Along with the news of players being released, the club announced that Declan Rudd has signed a new one-year deal with the club.

Rudd has been on a season-long loan at Charlton in League One, where he has had a solid season.
