Norwich’s 2016/17 season will reach it’s conclusion on Sunday against QPR, and it’s safe to say it has been a poor season.
The Canaries were hoping for automatic promotion before the start of the season, but have failed to reach the play-offs and can only finish as high as eighth now.
However, there have been a lot of highs in the season, having been top of the table earlier in the season – and some superb results like 7-1 over Reading and 2-0 against Brighton.
There have also been a few players who have earned themselves some plaudits at times throughout the campaign.
Which leads me onto our player of the season award. We hand out a man of the match award after every game Norwich player, and we have added those up from the whole season to decide our player of the season.
The player with the most votes is our player of the season, and the winner this year may surprise a few people.
Our 2016/17 player of the season has only started 18 Championship matches this season, but amassed eight man of the match award in his time on the pitch.
This player has scored six goals and set up ten as he has lit up Carrow Road on many an occasion this side of the season.
If you haven’t guessed it already: Our Read Norwich player of the season for 2016/17 is… Alex Pritchard!

The summer signing from Tottenham also won our player of the month for April earlier today and follows on from Timm Klose winning the award last season.
Pritchard has been exceptional this half of the season, and impressed in spurts in the first-half of the campaign.
Two players are tied for second place, with Nelson Oliveira and Timm Klose both having had six man of the match award. This means that neither can catch up with Pritchard in the final match of the season.
Although, if either of them are man of the match against QPR then they will have finished second in the system.
What do you think of our player of the season? Do you agree? If not, tell us who yours is in the comments!
