Webber appointed as Norwich sporting director

Norwich City have officially confirmed Scott Webber as the club’s new sporting director.

The club have announced Webber as head of footballing operations as sporting director, where he will now work to appoint a new head coach for the team.

Norwich have decided to scrap their previous system of having a manager and a chief executive – now moving to a sporting director and head coach.

This comes after Norwich lost two CEO’s in the last year; David McNally and Jez Moxey both left their roles in the club and the board have decided to act.

They started by sacking Alex Neil as manager three weeks ago, with Alan Irvine currently taking caretaker charge.

Webster was head of football at Huddersfield, who are currently in the play-off positions – above Norwich – in the Championship this season.

He was crucial in the appointment of David Wagner as Huddersfield boss, which has been lauded by many.
