Our man of the match: Cardiff (A)

Norwich won their third Championship match in-a-row as they beat Cardiff 1-0 today.

The Canaries travelled to Cardiff in need of three points to keep up their assault on the play-offs as they look to have turned a corner from their abysmal winter form.

Alex Neil’s side won the game through a header from ex-Cardiff striker Cameron Jerome – who scored his third goal in four matches.

The striker dived to head the ball into the corner after an excellent set-piece delivery from Wes Hoolahan.

The win lifts Norwich up to seventh in the Championship table and only three points behind Sheffield Wednesday in the standings. Norwich have a superior goal difference.

Mitchell Dijks and Yanic Wildschut both started and made their debuts for Norwich as the duo impressed in front of the away fans for the first time.

That brings me on to my man of the match for today. There were some top performers; John Ruddy, Cameron Jerome, Timm Klose and Wes Hoolahan.

However, I have gone for debutante defender Mitchell Dijks as my man of the match.

Having not played for Ajax since early January he came in and was exceptional at left-back for the Canaries.

He showed his strength and aggression in defence, which was lacking, for the most part, from Martin Olsson’s game.

Dijks tired toward the end but kept going and was vital in maintaining a clean sheet and claiming all three points.
