Our man of the match: Wolves (H)

Norwich City recorded a scrappy win against Wolves today as they claimed three points at Carrow Road.

The Canaries plucked out a 3-1 win against the Midlands club, as Paul Lambert made another return to the Carrow Road dugout as Wolves manager.

The visitors ended the game with a defender in goal, following a red card for their goalkeeper Carl Ikeme – Wolves had used all three subs.

Norwich were the side who took the lead in the first half. Steven Naismith scored in the 13th minute after he followed in Jonny Howson’s strike that hit the bar.

Wolves, though, were handed a great chance to level the scores in the second half when Ivo Pinto gave away a penalty. Helder Costa stepped up and struck the ball into the top corner.

Wes Hoolahan was then bundled down in the box in the 73rd minute, with Ikeme sent off in the ensuing melee. Robbie Brady converted the spot-kick.

Jonny Howson then sealed the victory in the 91st minute as his shot deflected in from outside the box.

Picking a man of the match was difficult, with a few players putting in some excellent performances.

A special mention has to go to Timm Klose, who was immense at the back for Norwich. But my man of the match is, of course, the mercurial Jonny Howson.

The midfielder was exceptional today as he played his part in all three goals. He hit the bar for the first goal, and then sealed the scoring in the last minute.

He controlled the play all match and made some important interceptions and tackles going back toward his own goal too. What a performance from Howson.
