Norwich City saw off promotion contenders Derby at Carrow Road as Nelson Oliveira netted a perfect hat-trick.
The Portuguese forward scored with his left foot, head and right foot as he single-handedly tore Derby apart.
Norwich dominated from start to finish but were helped in the last 20 after former Canary Jacob Butterfield was sent off for a two-footed challenge on Wes Hoolahan in the 66th minute.
Oliveira handed City the lead after 15 minutes. He smashed home a shot from the edge of the area, catching Scott Carson unawares.
He then doubled his tally in the 78th minute. Jonny Howson flicked on Russell Martin’s cross and Oliveira nodded the ball home in the six-yard box to make it 2-0.
The hat-trick was then completed just two minutes later. Timm Klose knocked the ball down in the penalty area and Oliveira lashed home on the volley from 12-yards.
There could only really be one man of the match could there not?
Nelson Oliveira has been in sublime form of late but this was most certainly his best performance in a City shirt to date.
A perfect hat-trick from a top player…
Honourable mentions have to go to Timm Klose, Wes Hoolahan and Jonny Howson – who were all at their best today.
